This course covers the origins and mechanisms of Gua Sha therapy, operational methods, safety protocols, risk factors, and contraindications. Improper Gua Sha operation can pose significant clinical risks. The course discusses the indications for Gua Sha, identifies high-risk populations (such as those with bleeding disorders and pregnant women), and analyzes the management of adverse events including syncope and skin injuries. The course also examines the risks associated with neck scraping, including life-threatening risks related to the carotid sinus.
